Yesterday I signed up to be a pattern tester! Pattern testers test a pattern (weird, right?) before it goes live to the public. They ensure that there are no typos or mistakes, that the pattern is easy to follow and that the finished project is roughly the same for all testers, allowing for everyone's different crocheting styles.
It's been an interesting experience. I tend to not follow a pattern exactly if it doesn't work for me. I'll make slight modifications here and there to suit my preferences and I had to rip things out a few times as I remembered I would be sending pictures to the pattern creator.
It's also been hard to temper the perfectionist inside me. Do I point out the small grammatical error? How nit-picky should I be? I would love to test for her again and don't want to be an annoyance but if it bothers me it'll probably bother someone else out there, right?
Well, it's only my first time so I'll probably find my groove if given more opportunities! I'll post pics of the project here if I'm given the go-ahead.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week and happy hooking! :-D
